My given name is Wendy. My online handle is Literary Feline.
I am a 30-something old woman (fast approaching 40).
My husband and I have been a couple for over 19 years.
We celebrated our 13th anniversary last month, and I am still madly in love with my husband.
If you had asked me five years ago if I wanted kids, I would have told you no.
I changed my mind and am now the proud mother to a darling 5 month old.
I am also the adoptive mother to two cats and a dog.
My favorite color changes on a regular basis. Right now it's lavender.
Last year it was brown.
I like Mexican and Italian food best.
I enjoy listening to a variety of music. I couldn't begin to give you a list. The music genre names change too fast for me to keep up.
I like watching movies, especially action movies and a romantic comedy now and then.
I don't especially like reading romantic comedies though.
I also enjoy a good drama film.
And a well done fantasy or science fiction movie.
Comedy movies and I don't always agree with each other.
I am a rather reserved person. If you ever have the chance to meet me, don't expect me to talk much.
Once we become the best of friends, don't expect me to shut up.
I am fairly easy going most of the time, but I do have a penchant for overanalyzing.
And when I do worry, I really worry. Worst case scenario, anyone?
My politic leaning tends to be liberal although I do have some conservative tendencies. I guess that's where the term "moderate" comes into play.
Issues close to my heart include prevention of child abuse and animal cruelty as well as breast cancer and Alzheimer's awareness.
I was raised United Methodist but had some exposure to the Catholic faith as well. I converted to Lutheranism in college.
I don't know where I fit in now.
I find religions of any kind interesting and am drawn to reading about them.

This is a cool idea! Nice to get to know you better!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reintroduction, Wendy! Reading this was a little like deja vu. I know we have joked that we are both named Wendy R. and from California...but now I see we have other similarities as well: Romantic comedy movies, politics, issues we fight for, raised Methodist...LOL. I have a feeling we would enjoy hanging out together if only we lived a little closer to each other!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun idea! I look forward to the rest of the posts!
ReplyDeleteI also tend to overanalyze and worry too much for my own good, so we are twins on that front! I really enjoyed reading this post and getting to know you a bit better. We have some things in common!
ReplyDeleteI bet if we met you'd talk a lot - whenever I've met a blogger, it's like meeting an old friend!
ReplyDeleteI echo Kathy. I would almost double dog dare you not to talk if we got together. I'm guessing it would be next to impossible! And yes, you do have yourself the cutest little baby ever. I'm wondering about the "not fitting in" comment. Maybe that is a new mom feeling, but I do know that you fit in here in blogland!
ReplyDeleteThis was a lovely post to read and learn more about you! I cannot believe that your little one is 5 months old already! How the time flies...
ReplyDeleteHello Wendy. Pleased to meet ya. :-D
ReplyDeleteNice to get to know your better Wendy!
ReplyDeleteHi Wendy!! This was a fun way to get to know you! How is your new little one - ok, not so new, she can't be 5 months old now! ? I really enjoyed this. If I weren't so shy I'd this on my blog too. I bet you'd talk more than me, though if I'm nervous I talk alot too (and usually end up making foot-in-mouth comments too, sadly).
ReplyDeleteYou are a little bit on the quiet side but I know there is so much going on in that head of yours, that if we got together and spent an hour over lunch, I think we'd talk each other out.
ReplyDeleteLove love love this post! And I agree--wish we lived closer together. This is very much me as well: " If you ever have the chance to meet me, don't expect me to talk much. Once we become the best of friends, don't expect me to shut up."
ReplyDeleteLook forward to learning more. ;)
So nice to get to know you a bit more Wendy!
ReplyDeleteI'm also a worrier - not good!
Jason and I will celebrate our 13th anniversary in October. We both waited long enough to have kids, LOL!
ReplyDeleteLove this post, Wendy! We share a similar outlook on movies, in person I'm quiet until I feel I really know somebody, I tend to overanalyze and am a worrier and so on and so forth....I'm not surprised I enjoy your posts and emails so much.
ReplyDeleteThis was a great idea & I may ask to copy it one day....:o)
I love that your favorite colors change. I usually go with red. On your second post - I too was a maid briefly and I too was horrible at it. I like watching romantic comedies too but I am so over romantic books.
ReplyDeleteLinda - Thanks, Linda! When I first began blogging it seemed like everyone was doing this to celebrate their anniversaries. I never did because I was too afraid to try coming up with 100 things to mention. Still struggling with the last 25 as I write this!
ReplyDeleteWendy - How cool is that?! I imagine we'd enjoy regular get togethers if we lived closer to each other too. :-)
Kelly - It's been fun trying to think of things to write--I'm not sure they're all very interesting, but fun nonetheless. :-)
Heather - We really need to stop with the overanaylzing. LOL Easier said than done.
Kathy - Maybe after the first couple of times. ;-)
Sandy - LOL Well, I would make an effort not to be too shy. :-) Florinda and Amy of My Friend Amy's would probably know better if I succeeded when I first met them.
The fitting in comment was more a continuation of where I fall in the religious spectrum. I definitely feel like I belong in blogland. :-)
Samantha - Hubby and I were comparing photos of Mouse the other day--how much she's grown and changed over the past 5 1/2 months. I know I keep saying it but it's so true: they grow so fast!
Jill & Kathleen - :-D
ReplyDeleteSusan - As you can tell, I didn't take too many risks when it came to disclosing these little tidbits about me. :-) I'm too chicken. Haha I'm the same way--when I'm really nervous I tend to stick my foot in my mouth too. Mostly though when it comes to public speaking. Hate it.
She's already 5 1/2 months! Hard to believe, I know. She's going to be standing and walking all on her own before I know it!
Ti - You just may be right about that. :-)
Trish - We're two peas in a pod. :-)
Iliana - We just can't help ourselves, can we?
Stacy - Congratulations on 13 years! I'm glad to know we weren't the only ones who took our time in having kids!
Amy - We definitely do have a lot in common. I knew there was a reason I liked you so much. :-)
Feel free to share 100 things about yourself--or more if you'd like!
Amanda - Some would call my inability to choose a favorite color indecisiveness. LOL I guess it's good we both decided not to stick with being maids. And like you, I got my feel of romance novels long ago. Maybe that's why I don't care for them so much now . . .
