Top 10 of 2021 is hosted by Books of My Heart.
It is hard to resist an attractive book cover, isn't it? It may not be the reason I decide to read a book in the end, but it certainly may be the reason I pick it up to take a closer look in the first place. Here are my top ten book covers of books I read in 2021 (in no particular order):
The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo
The Russian Cage (Gunnie Rose #3) by Charlaine Harris
Swimming Back to Trout River by Linda Rui Feng
The Memory Collectors by Kim Neville
Cackle by Rachel Harrison
Witch Hat Atelier, Volume 3 by Kamome Shrahama & Stephen Kohler, translator
One by One by Ruth Ware
The Gilded Ones (Deathless #1) by Namina Forna

Gilded Ones is magnificent, and Cackle is clever.
ReplyDeleteDeb - I agree!
DeleteMy favorite on your list is definitely Gilded Ones followed by Poet X. I know we're not supposed to judge books by their cover, but a good cover is so wonderful and a bad cover can just wreck a book's chances.
ReplyDeleteHelen - A good cover can make a difference in whether we pick up a good to take a closer look or pass it by, can't it? Sometimes at least. :-)
DeleteThank so much for joining us in sharing your covers. I love seeing the different styles which attract people.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart

ReplyDeleteOoh, what a great post. The Gilded Ones' cover is truly beautiful -- I don't usually read fantasy, but that cover actually made me read this one, and I ended up really liking it.
And shoot, The Christmas Dress looks like exactly the kind of book I was looking for a couple weeks back when I wanted a holiday read that wasn't explicitly romance. Maybe if I get to it quick I'll still appreciate the seasonal magic without having to wait a year...
RS - I really enjoyed The Gilded Ones too. A beautiful cover and a beautiful book. I am glad you enjoyed it!
DeleteI hope you enjoy The Christmas Dress if you read it. I really liked that one.
The Christmas Dress is my favorite of all of these :)

ReplyDeleteKatherine - The Russian Cage cover really draws me in immediately too.
