Friday Fill In

1. This year, I'd like to spend more time reading than I did last year.
2. Spending a rainy afternoon reading is what I daydream about most.
3. My TBR room is a temple.
4. I would like to have more time for reading in my life.
5. I love to have lots of books around the house.
6. A good book makes me smile.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to watching another episode of Dexter (1st season) and then snuggling into bed early with my book, tomorrow my plans include waiting for the plumber, reading, and if weather and time permit, dragging my husband to see Atonement (in fact, forget the plumber, let's just go see the movie) and Sunday, I want to spend some much needed quality time with my book (and see Atonement if we didn't see it on Saturday)!

  4. Atonement is one movie I haven't seen yet!

    What's TBR?

Glad to see you this week, thanks for playing!

  5. Julie - Yes, definitely a theme! :-)

Jen - I've got the reading bug. ;-)

Joy - Haha That's my favorite too. :-)

Janet - I've been waiting to see that one since it came out, but it hasn't been playing close to home. Finally, it's made it's way to the neighboring city. Otherwise, hubby promised to take me to L.A. to see it.

TBR stands for To Be Read. My TBR room is full of unread books I hope to read one of these days.

  6. We didn't have to daydream about a rainy afternoon today! We had a mega storm!
I got Broken For You today! Thanks again!
Enjoy Atonement this weekend, it looks like a great movie!

  7. I really want to see Atonement too and would love to go to the movies this weekend but I've got some family in town and my hubby is getting over a cold so I probably won't go to the movies... I'm having withdrawal! We typically go once a week but have missed out the past three weekends. Hope you enjoy it and you'll have to let us know how you liked it!

  8. I'm with you on #'s 1, 4 & 5!
    Enjoy your weekend.

  9. A theme? What theme? lol.

Atonement, eh? The BFF wants to see it. I heard the twist and haven't wanted to read the book or see the movie.

  10. Jaimie - No, definitely no day dreaming needed today! It's very wet outside--and windy! My parents said it was really bad up where they live in northern California. I hope you are staying dry and safe. I think I heard that this is the first of two or three storms coming our way.

I am so glad the book arrived! That was fast!

Iliana - I hope you get to go to the movies soon! We go this time of year, more than any other time, but we go pretty regularly in general.

Becky - Thanks! I'm hoping to get lots of reading in this weekend. ;-)

Carrie K - I have heard the movie is beautiful to look at, which is one of the reasons I want to see it. The book was one of my favorites this past year and so, of course, I have to see the movie. Luckily, hubby wants to see it too.

  11. I can hear it raining outside and I'm reading! Well ... I was ... until I decided to check on blogs ... but I'm going to go back to my book just as soon as I finish this :o)

Have fun reading with rain this weekend.

  12. I love rainy days and reading too, although it hasn't rained for awhile here. I want to spend more time reading this year as well to attack my massive TBR pile!

  13. Atonement has released over there already?!! I want to watch this movie! I'm hoping the local cinemas will show this soon!!

  14. I just got the first Dexter DVD from Netflix. I've heard good things about it, and can't wait to have a chance to sit down and watch.

  15. Happy New Year Literary Feline! I hope you get all that you wished for and enjoy atonement!

  17. Terri - I love the sound of rain falling outside. :-) It sounds like there is a break in the storm at the moment, but I hear there's more on is way.

Erin - I can try and send some of this rain I'm getting your way, if you'd like. ;-)

Melody - It was actually released earlier last month, but only to a limited amount of theaters. It's finally in town, about time too!

JMC - We've seen the first three episodes so far. I am enjoying it, but I can't say it's a favorite. Have you read the books?

Dancin' Fool - Happy New Year to you as well! I knew what you meant about Atonement. :-) I have high hopes and am hoping I won't be disappointed.

  18. I'm taking a pass on ATONEMENT. I read the book. I loved loved loved the first half. But the second half felt like a totally different book. I didn't like it.

  19. Karen - Haha I understand. I remember that you preferred the first half while I was more taken in by the second. The movie played much the same way, so I'm sure you probably wouldn't care for it then.

  20. I heartily second #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6!! ;)
Have fun watching Dexter. Season 1 is replaying here so I'm watching it again to see how it leads up to the ending. Hope you haven't had it spoiled for you.

  21. Aye to #2,#3,#4 and #5. You got me all excited and hoping for rain now (when I'm home and cozied up with a book). Hehe...

  22. Tanabata - I've been a fan of Dexter since the release of the first book in the series, and so I'm afraid the big story arch in season 1 won't come as a surprise to me. That's okay though; I'm still enjoying the show. :-) I actually never mind a movie or TV show spoiler, but I hate-HATE-having a book spoiled for me. Isn't that odd?

Alice - I hope you get some rain!

    Alice -

  23. I'm the same way though about not wanting my books spoiled. TV shows and movies usually come later here so I often read spoilers about them beforehand and sometimes even search out the spoilers. But for some reason this never bothers me. I still enjoy watching and anticipating what I know is coming. This frustrates my husband though because he doesn't want to know but then if I know ... :P

  24. Haha Tanabata, my husband is the same way. He doesn't want to know spoilers for TV shows ahead of time, but he hates it if I know and he doesn't. :-)
