He stared at me through the flickering blue flames, holding his ground. He would never forgive me for this, I knew it. Anger had made his face pale and drawn.

The book closest to me is the galley of my next book SHOT GIRL. I'm proofreading in between writing. But since it now really looks like a book, I figure it would qualify for this page 123 meme:
ReplyDeleteAs we walked back to my car, I hoped tonight would turn out a lot better than last night did. And if he was with me, at least I wouldn't get another phone call. That wasn't the caller's MO.
Two of your responses made me chuckle--What are you wearing-soup and something you are you not wearing--hat. Why they were so funny to me, I'm not sure, but thanks for the laugh! :)
ReplyDeleteKaren - A tiny look inside the covers of your new book! How exciting!
ReplyDeleteLaura - You're welcome. I was hoping they'd be a little funny, at least. :-)
I'll try to do this some time today.
ReplyDeleteJen - Oh good! I look forward to reading your responses. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing the 123 Page meme! Always interested to see what book you are reading :) I never read book by Jocelyn Drake before. Must be good? :) I also agree with Laura's comment about two of your answers. It funny -- and you did hit the mark if you tend to do it on purpose ;) :)
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
Julia - Thank you for tagging me for that one! This is my first book by Jocelynn Drake. I was able to finish it this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteLF..I'll have to try one of these someday. It looks like fun, although today I'm pressured with two deadlines back to back. However, Here is my 123rd page answer:
ReplyDelete"Those girls haven't been about any to my knowledge. I never saw either of them."
"I have."
From~Two Men, by Elizabeth Stoddard
I just played along with the One Word Meme!
ReplyDeleteOMG! I have fallen in love with your blog. I also write a blog of book reviews for books I've read, so I am always thrilled to find another book blogger. I'm spending most of my time today surfing thru your posts.
ReplyDeleteI've put you on my blogroll, so I'll be checking back regularly. By the way, I found you thru Florinda at The 3 R's - I found Florinda thru AllMediocre.
Keep up the great work!
Wisteria - I do understand about deadlines all too well. There's none of either of the memes thank goodness!
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing the 123 meme! It's one that never seems to go out of style because the answers are always changing.
Alisia - I am on my way over to your blog to see your responses. Thanks for playing!

ReplyDeleteJulie - Thanks for playing!
ReplyDeleteAlice - It would be difficult, wouldn't it?
I see that you are reading (have read?) Nightwalker. That was one of the books I was reading that my friend packed on me...I was kinda meh about what I've read of it and am interested in what your thoughts are.
ReplyDeleteGail - I did finish reading Nightwalker and should be posting my review tomorrow. I ended up liking it and would like to try the next book in the series. It took me a little while to warm up to Mira, I admit.
