The photo reminds me of my own cat, but he never lies there calmly. He's only two and likes to knock books off shelves...as impressed as I am with the cats, I am more impressed with your organization of the books. Mine are helter skelter everywhere.
What a pretty cat! Funny how they like paper products so much. I lay envelopes to be mailed on the floor by the front door so husband will take them to the P.O. and my cat would always always notice them and lay on them. She just couldn't resist paper even if it was only the size of a postage stamp.
How sweet! My cat wouldn't fit in that space, so I don't get any opportunities like that. Nice to have kitties who love books, too. (Except if they want to sit on the books rather than let you read them.)
Definitely a bookish kitty!! Don't you find that you have hairy books though? I know I do when my Phoebe decides to climb amongst my bookcases?
Incidentally I think that you to be commended for actually going back and deleting the odd exclamation marks from your posts - I just let mine lie where they end up being scattered!!
Aww, he's so cute! And he looks so comfy there. :)
I realised I have to remember to come back to read your replies now since the embedded comment form doesn't yet support receiving replies via email. Looks good though.
Thank you! He's running sprints through the living room right now. Practicing while the dog is sleeping . . . Probably a good idea.
Alisia - I organize alphabetically by author's surname and by 2 sizes: mass market paperbacks and then hardbacks/trades. My husband thinks it looks better that way.
Thank you for taking the time to visit Musings of a Bookish Kitty. Don't be shy! I would love to hear from you. That is WAY too cute! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Wendy!
ReplyDeleteYour kitty is adorable. :)
Nice play on words, and a great picture! He's cute (and this is coming from a dog person, as you know)!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Renee and Melody. He's the king of the house. At least that's what I always tell him. :-)
ReplyDeleteFlorinda - Thanks! His best friend is a dog, and that's probably why you think he's cute. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love it!! I bet you have fluffy books, too!
ReplyDeleteAww! Very cute! I wish my dogs would lay on my books instead of chew them, lol.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE orange tabby cats! He looks playful!

ReplyDeleteAww :) My kitties only sleep on my books when I'm physically holding them on my hands!
ReplyDeleteAww! He's so cute. One of my cats loves to lounge on my paperbacks. I think she likes the texture of the pages.

Lol! My cat is always trying to get on the book shelves but she can't fit (so I get to clean up all the piles she knocks over)
ReplyDeleteSo cute. I see that you also "double" stack books. What can we do right? :)
ReplyDeleteWendy He(she)looks very comfy:)
ReplyDeleteYour cat is precious!! Hey, I noticed that you changed the comment format--is there no longer a button we can press to get emailed comment updates??
ReplyDeleteOK...I need a poster-sized copy of this!

My kitty is always trying to get on the bookshelf too - no success as of yet!
ReplyDeleteDon't they have kitty rehab for that now? (cat on books...)
ReplyDeleteYour kitty looks a little bit like the one I had before Max and Maddie. He was a great guy and I had him for 17 years.

Thank you all for dropping in and commenting!
ReplyDeleteCarrie and Sam - The bottom shelves of books in my house are definitely fluffy. :-)
Unfinishedperson - You should should see my shelves right now.
Terri B - My cat does that too!
Iliana - I've been considering triple stacking, but I'm not sure if that will work.
Trish - Yeah, there's no longer that helpful little box to check to have comments sent to you. I hope they add it back in. It was such a nice feature.
CJ - I do hope my cat lives that long!
Rainbow Darling - I know what you mean. My cat likes to do that to my husband all the time, sit on his books as he's trying to read them. :-)
Love the photo! Must dig out my one of Morgaine on my books in a flat I lived in in Brighton.
ReplyDeleteHow cute! My cat likes to hide behind the books. :)
ReplyDeleteDo you arrange your bookshelves based on a book's size?
Oh, how sweet! Guarding your books for you. So cute!!
