Rules to the 6th Picture Meme:
1. Go to your Picture Folder on your computer or wherever you store your pictures.I remember the last time I was tagged for this one how complicated it became. When I open my pictures file, I only have four files. Each of those files contains a number of files, however. I decided to choose file 3 for the sake of this exercise and then picked up where the rules left off after that.
2. Go to the 6th Folder, then pick the 6th picture in that folder.
3. Post that picture on your blog and the story that goes along with the picture.
Once upon a time there was a dog named Riley. He had many books.

Last week I was also tagged for the Happy Things Meme by Jen, Yvonne and Sandy.
Rules to the 6 Things that Make Me Happy Meme:
1. Link to the person who has tagged you.1. A book that sweeps me off my feet and makes me lose all sense of time.
2. Write down six things that make you happy (I am stealing Nymeth's idea and sticking to 6 bookish things that make me happy).
2. News that a favorite author has a new book coming out.
3. Discovering new authors that I know instantly will be counted among my favorites.
4. Coming across a sentence or paragraph that stays with me even after I've reached the end of the book.
5. Finding quiet time to read.
6. A book that makes me exclaim, "Wow!"
I am not going to tag anyone for either of these memes, but if you want to play along, I hope you will. Be sure and let me know!
Oh, I love that pic, Wendy! Riley looks so adorable posing in front of the bookshelves! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I love all your bookish list!
Awww, he's cute! He's a bookish doggie! I like your twist on your happy list. You can't go wrong on anything bookish. Thanks for playing!
ReplyDeleteHey Literary Feline! Thank you so much for ordering one of my BookWormz! I was surprised that particular one hadn't sold yet, as it is v. unique! :) I hope you enjoy, and i'll be shipping out today. Thanks again! If you like it, would you be willing to do a giveaway on your blog? Thanks again,
ReplyDeleteBookWormz
Melody - I had to be quick before Riley got out of position. LOL He doesn't sit for the camera well usually.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you like my list. :-)
Sandy - And he doesn't try and eat them anymore! He hasn't for awhile now, fortunately.
I figured I couldn't go wrong with bookish things. :-)
Bookwormz - It probably hadn't sold yet because it was meant for me. Okay so maybe that's stretching it. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'll e-mail you about the giveaway tonight or tomorrow to find out what you have in mind (or you can e-mail me--my e-mail address can be found on my profile page). I have to skedaddle to work now or I'll be late.
Ooooh! Love the picture! If I had that many bookcases I think most or all of my books could have their own spot instead of sitting around in stacks. Someday!
ReplyDeleteLove your answers and the pic! Answering the six things using bookish theme is a great idea. :D
ReplyDeleteSuch a great pic - just love seeing bookshelves filled up.
ReplyDeleteAnd, I like your happy bookish things. All sound good to me :)
those are some full bookshelves and the dog is a cute addition to the photo...i might have to try this one!
ReplyDeleteGreat pic Wendy. Riley looks so sweet lost in all those books. I like the idea of keeping the meme on things that make you happy confined to books. I may do that when I do mine too.
ReplyDeleteI have awarded your blog,
ReplyDeleteTamara
Riley and his books! Such a cute picture.
ReplyDelete#2 - books that make me lose all sense of time and place - I love that!!
I love your six things! And the picture too :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with your bookshelf...and I'll take the dog too!!!
ReplyDeleteYour 6 things that make me happy was great...oh, how I love books too and the emotions they bring out in me!!
Riley is so sweet, he looks like Oliver there :D
ReplyDeleteLooove Riley's books! It looks like he is waiting to take you on a book tour.
ReplyDeleteCan you give me one of your shelfs please??? :)
ReplyDeleteI did the 6 things meme too, fun isn't?
Emmy likes to get behind the books on the bookshelf and look out. We took to my in-laws and she did that and they ooohed and aaahed and took tons of pictures of it. And I was like, yeah, she does that all the time!
ReplyDeleteAlea - I could use another bookshelf, actually. I put all the ones in the photo together myself. They're a rather mismatch bunch, but they do the job. Someday I hope to have some really nice shelves. I hope you will be able to get your dream bookshelves one day!
ReplyDeleteAlice - Thanks! I thought it would be more interesting keeping with a bookish theme. :-)
Iliana - Thank you. They look much nicer when they're not so cluttered.
Serena - You should see the bookshelves in the spare bedroom. Talk about full (overflowing would be an understatement)!
Dar - Thanks! Riley loves it when I read to him. He curls up on my lap (as much as he can anyway) and off we go into another world together.
Tamara - Thank you for the award, Tamara! It was fun coming up with a list of addictions. :-)
Carrie K - Riley's quite protective of them (once he learned they weren't chew toys--he hates it when I bring that up).
Nymeth - Thank you! And thanks for the idea!
Staci - Haha! You can understand why guests are drawn to my shelves. :-)
I really do like the fact that books play on my emotions the way they do. It's one of the pleasures of reading.
Sylvie - He is a sweetie. Except when he was barking at the poor neighbor this morning who was only trying to trim his orange tree.
Terri - Riley would make a great tour guide. :-)
Eliza - Haha! But then where would I put my books? I actually have a few more shelves than those as well. Those look even more crowded than the ones you see in this photo. Although, I have to say, this is a pre-book filing photo.
Lenore - The shelf you can't see most of is full of paperbacks and is double shelved. My cats cannot fit behind the books on any of the shelves as a result. Parker sometimes can be found lying on top of them though. :-)
My dog, Dakota, eats books. We can put any books on the bottom two shelves of our bookcases any more. She's a Basset and can't reach above the second shelf.
ReplyDeleteC.B. - Dogs and cats can be like small children, can't they? A house needs to be animal proofed for their safety and our sanity. :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat photo! I didn't know Riley was so well-read! ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your 6 bookish things that make you happy. They all apply to me too.
Nat - He and my cats are bookworms all on their own! ;-)
ReplyDeleteRiley is too cute in that picture--he does look as if he's saying, These are mine...back off.
ReplyDeleteI *love* when a book sweeps me off my feet and makes me lose all sense of time. Even though those moments are sometimes rare, it keeps me reading.
Trish - He's a good little book protector. LOL
ReplyDeleteI've got bookshelf envy now! I borrowed the 6 Things meme (here) and the bookish theme, since I figured most of them would be book-related anyway.
ReplyDeleteCoversgirl - I am glad you played along! I will head over to your blog and take a look.
