1. It's cold and numb, a definite sign that it's time to take the ice pack off my ankle.
2. I don't especially care for raw tomatoes.
3. My favorite health and beauty product is a good moisturizing lotion.
4. If only I could hop on the cross-country train and go for a nice long ride.
5. Well, first of all, I am never going to agree with with my husband that the 30th Anniversary Chocolate Cake Cheesecake is better than the Chocolate Coconut Cream Cheesecake.
6. My two sleepy cats, my drowsy-eyed dog, and an angry alarm clock that came to life and chased after us all; those were the cast of characters in my most recent memorable dream and it was pretty weird.
7. And as for the weekend, I really am not sure what I have planned. It may depend on how my ankle is holding up. My husband and I have been watching the 3rd season of Closer, and so I imagine we will do more of the same over the weekend. I also foresee a bit of blog hopping in the near future along with some quality time with a book or two.

Thank you to all who participated in my poll at the beginning of the month. I occasionally go through identity crises where I wonder if I should make a change here and there. I am one of those people who would never be able to get a tattoo--not because I am afraid of the needle or blood, nor am I worried about the possibility of ink poisoning, but rather the fact that I would grow tired of the image after awhile and want a change.
It was with that in mind and wondering if it would be easier to match my blog name with my online nickname, that I put the question to you: Which do you prefer? Musings of a Bookish Kitty or Musings of a Literary Feline? After all, I'm not rally that original.

There were 99 votes in all:
31 for Musings of a Literary Feline
68 for Musings of a Bookish Kitty
31 for Musings of a Literary Feline
68 for Musings of a Bookish Kitty
My husband has refused to tell me which he prefers just yet. He knows all too well how I am easily swayed by his opinion on these matters. And he knows how much I labored over coming up with the name Musings of a Bookish Kitty in the first place. I thought it was too cutesy at the time, but I was afraid that people would get the impression that I only read "literary fiction" if I went with Literary Feline.
The identity crisis has passed for the moment. I am content with Musings of a Bookish Kitty. Although, I think I may change the name of my car instead.
Wouldn't this pretty Dutch windmill mailbox be fun to receive mail in every day? Here's a look inside my own mailbox on this Mailbox Monday on Friday:

Sorry to hear you hurt your ankle. Hope everything is alright.
ReplyDeleteOk couple of weird coincidences I am the same with tomatoes. Hate them raw, love them as a sauce.
Also I would not get a tattoo (despite having a needle/pain/disease fear) most because I would be worried about getting bored with my tattoo design and wanting to change it.
Great book haul too.
My Friday Fill-In is here. Have a great weekend.
I hope your ankle feels better soon! Also, I really hope you like The Girl Who Stopped Swimming. I LOVED it and am excited to hear your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend!
LOL loved reading about your dream :-)
ReplyDeleteHope your ankle heals quickly!
How do you like your alarm clock now? That is a pretty interesting dream! My Friday Fill-in answers are here.
ReplyDeletei always hate "the angry alarm clock came to life" part especially when Edward Cullen is in my dream. Haha!
ReplyDeleteLittle Bee has been on my radar...I will wait for your convincing review! I love the title of your blog and I don't think it is cutesy in the least. It is interesting that you were doubting the synchronicity between your blog name and web address. Mine is all mucked up and it bothers me too. When I signed up for blogger, I just used my name as my web address (maybe for search engine purposes?) and has no connection at all with my blog name. Grrr....I guess there is nothing to do with it now.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on #2 about the tomatoes, but I'm afraid I have to take Anjin's side on #5 - the Chocolate Cake Cheesecake is GOOD. (Besides, I don't like coconut very much :-).)
ReplyDeleteI won a copy of The Girl Who Stopped Swimming and received it this week, too! A Short History of Women sounds intriguing.
Sorry to hear about your ankle, Wendy - hope it's doing better this weekend!
Hope your ankle is healing as fast as possible - or faster :) Looks like you received lots of great books. I'm only a little jealous.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are keeping things the way they are! It is a difficult decision, though, huh?
ReplyDeleteLots of good books in your mailbox. Happy reading!
You had a good book week this week!
ReplyDeleteTo settle the argument I think you should go an get BOTH cheesecakes and try the again :)
ReplyDeleteHope your ankle gets better fast!
ReplyDeleteI've got The Crying Tree too, though I'm not sure where it came from, and I won The Girl Who Stopped Swimming last week too!
I hope your ankle is feeling better. I was a vote for Musings of a Bookish Kitty-I always thought that it was just great. Nice mailbox this week-I got Crying Tree too. Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteLook at those books! Very nice!
ReplyDeleteI hope your ankle gets better, Wendy. I love the sound of "Musings of a Bookish Kitty" and that was my vote too. :)
Hope your ankle feels better fast. But it's a good excuse to not do anything but read all weekend :-)
ReplyDeleteMaybe you need to change your online name no Twitter and elsewhere to "Bookish Kitty"? I think they're both wonderful names, just go with whatever feels right to you.
I hope your ankle is doing better!! But if nothing else you should get a lot of sympathy, love from the furry kids and your hubby, and a lot of reading done!! Your mailbox had some great reads in there!! Enjoy ;)
ReplyDeleteCaspette - My ankle is still pretty sore. I'm doing what I can to stay off of it, which is proving to be difficult.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that interesting about the tomatoes? I love them as sauce too. And you too with the tattoo and probably growing bored with it? I'm glad I'm not the only one. :-)
Nikki - Thanks! I am really looking forward to reading The Girl Who Stopped Swimming. :-)
I hope you had a good weekend too!
Janet - Haha! It was a funny one. :-) And thanks! I sure hope it heals soon.
Danielle - I'm almost afraid it really will come to life. LOL
Kath - That would definitely be the worst, timing wise!
Sandy - I've heard great things about Little Bee, so I'm looking forward to reading it.
You understand perfectly then what I'm talking about with my blog name and web address. The things we learn after the fact . . .
Florinda - I love coconut. And put it with chocolate, I'm in heaven. :-)
We'll have to compare notes about The Girl Who Stopped Swimming.
The ankle is still giving me trouble, I'm afraid. It turned out to be a little more serious than I thought it would be. Thanks for the healing wishes!
Stacy - Thanks, Stacy. I hope it gets better soon too!
Kelly - I'm just never satisfied. LOL
ReplyDeleteMelissa - I thought so too!
Sally - Haha! Yes, and maybe I should have several taste tests just to be sure. :-)
Nicola - Me too! Thanks!
I was wondering the same thing about The Crying Tree. LOL I'm not sure where it came from either.
Dar - Thank you for the well wishes and the book! :-) I hope you had a good weekend too.
Alice - Thanks! I'm excited to read them. :-)
And thank you for your well wishes.
Ingrid - I did manage to fit in a lot of reading this weekend. :-)
I thought of changing my nickname too--but it goes along with my web address, which I can't change so it really wouldn't solve the problem, I'm afraid. I'm content to leave things as is right now. I'm sure I'll doubt myself again in another three years. :-)
Staci - Thank you! The animals have offered me extra cuddles this weekend, which I'm grateful for.
I hope your ankle is a bit better!
ReplyDeleteOK, I adore tomatoes in every form! Tomatoes are practically a staple food in our house. I do have a couple friends who don't like raw tomatoes though I've never understood why. ;)
And now you've made me curious what name you've given your car. :P
Hope your ankle feels better soon. I voted for Bookish Kitty, I just think that sounds so cute. And any cheesecake is number one with me!
ReplyDeleteChange the name of your car? What is it now? Love that mailbox. I won The Girl Who Stopped Swimming too but I haven't started it yet. LUCKY! I want to read Missing Ink!
ReplyDeleteNat - It's doing better, although it's still sensitive. I'm trying not to overdo it and re-injure it. Thanks for asking!
ReplyDeleteJaimie - Thanks, Jaimie! My ankle is almost completely better. I'm a big fan of all cheesecake too. :-)
Jen - My last car had two names too. I'm not very good at making up my mind. LOL
