1. My favorite month is September because with it comes the start of the autumn season (and because it's my birthday month).
2. On a hot summer day feeling a fresh cool breeze is always welcome.
3. I love to sniff the air on the first rainy day of the season.
4. A banana mixed in with my cereal is what I like to have as a treat for breakfast.
5. The hobby I enjoy most is reading!
6. Is that really a kick I feel? Oh my!
7. And as for the weekend, today I'm looking forward to taking my maternity slacks to the seamstress to be hemmed first thing in the morning, fitting in a hair cut if I'm able, visiting the doctor in the afternoon (okay, so the amniocentesis, not so much), and enjoying a quiet evening at home; tomorrow my plans include shopping for shower gifts for a friend who is having twins and packing away the knickknacks in the curio cabinet and Sunday, I want to stay up late since I don't have to go to work on Monday!
What are your plans for the weekend? Whatever you do, I hope you have a good one!

Enjoy your day off! My husband had today off and I sent him to the park to pick up my race packet for a 5k tomorrow. haha!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day off!
ReplyDeleteAnd hurray for feeling a kick! I remember that - it is so incredible and cool (I have 2 teenage girls, oh my!)
Also I love your blog name since books and cats are two of my very favorite things :)
I loved it when my boys kicked!!
ReplyDeleteMy plans are reading, watching the Michigan v. Michigan State football game, taking my son/girlfriend to their homecoming dance, making soup, doing laundry, and soaking up the beautiful weather.
Hello... its been a while. Congratulations on the baby on the way. I can still feel the kicking under my ribs from my boy....he's 23! And his feet grew to be enORmous.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a happy post. I like! Happy weekend, Wendy! :D
ReplyDeleteKris - Thanks, Kris! That's a good use for your husband. Might as well give him something to do on his day off. :-)
ReplyDeleteLidian - Thank you! I hope you are enjoying your weekend.
This is my first and I'm loving every minute. The baby isn't up to regular kicking yet, but I imagine will be soon.
Books and cats are the best. :-)
Staci - Sounds like you have a full weekend ahead, Staci! I hope you enjoy it!
Chat Noir - Thank you. I imagine the memory of the kicking is a feeling that never goes away. :-) My friend says she MUST have touching rights so she can feel my baby kick.
Alice - Happy weekend to you too, Alice. :-)
Oh, I remember the first kick. It is quite the feeling. This is when you realize there is a person in there! And trust me, some days you two will not get along. I had to stop eating spicy food around month 6 as Alex would kick and wiggle afterwords.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend, sounds like a fun filled couple of days.
Sari - We had the ultrasound Friday and got to see the baby from all angles. That was such a neat experience. One of the main foods I've been craving since getting pregnant is Mexican food, so it will be interesting to see if, like you, I end up having to stop later on.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a pretty cool and relaxing weekend all around. I hope the doctor's appointment goes well!
ReplyDeleteIt must be wonderful to feel baby kick. It always joyful :) I hope your pregnancy go smoothly :)
ReplyDeleteWend, so happy to hear you are expecting. That 1st kick and each one after is so special. Wishing you a trouble free pregnancy and a healthy newborn.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your long weekend Wendy :-) Bananas in cereal is the best.
ReplyDeleteHeather - The doctor's visit did seem to go well. The procedure was a lot easier than I thought it would be--now to just wait two weeks for the results! The doctor thought everything looked fine on the surface--and now we know what we're having! So exciting! I'll be posting a hint on Wednesday--and no worries, no ultrasound photos. :-)
ReplyDeleteJulia - It is a wonderful feeling. I wasn't sure that's what it was at first, to be honest.
Diane - Thanks, Diane! I really appreciate it.
Marie - I'm a sucker for bananas. I'd put them on just about everything if I thought it would taste good. I'm not crazy enough to try though. LOL
Maybe the amnio "not so much," but so happy to hear that everything is progressing and that you are in good health! Am getting a vicarious kick of my own.
ReplyDeleteClea - Thanks, Clea. I'm in the honeymoon phase evidently so I hope I can stretch it out.
