That is adorable!! Did any of it get in her?
ReplyDeleteKathy - A little bit did make it into her mouth. Just how much, I am not sure. LOL
Deletehaha! I guess she wasn't keen on sharing... :)
ReplyDeleteThat particular cake was all her own. :-) Originally I was only going to give her a cupcake, but since we got her main cake from the bakery, and they give you an extra cake for first birthdays, we went that route. It was a bit much maybe--but it was free and she had fun, as you can see.
DeleteI've always wanted to do that!
ReplyDeleteMe too! I told my husband I wanted to have a smash cake for my birthday. Of course, I'd probably be a glutton and eat it all. LOL
DeleteThat is so much fun! I especially love the inclusion of the last photo! :)
ReplyDeleteShe wasn't too sure what she was supposed to do at first but once she got started there was no stopping her. :-) She was quite tuckered out at the end of the day.
DeleteOh that is too cute! I'll bet it was fun to clean up :)
ReplyDeleteShe made quite the mess! LOL We set down an extra plastic table cloth under her highchair for the occasion so it wasn't as bad as it could've been. I was surprised her clothes didn't get more messed up--I'd even put her in a different top so she wouldn't ruin her birthday outfit.
DeleteWendy....your daughter is so big now. Love these shots, but would have hated the clean-up...LOL
ReplyDeleteShe's growing up so fast! Dad and Grandma did most of the cleaning up, so it wasn't too bad on my end. LOL
DeleteOMG! That is such a fun and funny picture progression! Happy Birthday, sweet little cake smasher! Fun clean-up, huh??? haha!
ReplyDeleteSusan - I took a ton of photos of the event. Too many probably. LOL
DeleteThese are priceless! Some of my favorite pictures of my kiddos are from their 1st birthday and 1st taste of cake :) Each one attacked the cake differently which makes it fun to reminisce on.
ReplyDeleteSamantha - I can't tell you how many pictures I took of the day, but I know it was a lot. Mouse was very hesitant at first. I expected more of a mess, but she did a pretty good job just the same. :-)
DeleteThere is SO much to love in these pictures! Mouse looks like such a spunky little baby--I'm sure that she and the chickpea would get along famously. :) Happy birthday to her--her outfit is ADORABLE but I think my favorite is the last picture where she's crashed. Those moments just tug at my heartstrings.
ReplyDeleteTrish - Thank you! I bet she and Elle would have so much fun together. :-)
DeleteThank you for the birthday wishes! I love the sleeping pictures best too--they look angelic when they are sleeping.
Demolishing that cake was hard work! LOL
ReplyDeleteIt sure was, Cathy! :-) I was tired just from watching her!
DeleteNow there's someone who knows how to enjoy her cake!
ReplyDeleteCheryl - We could all take lessons! :-)
DeleteGreat photos. I love the last one...exhausted little cake smasher!
ReplyDeleteKathleen - She had a full day, that's for sure. :-)
DeleteLove all the photos, Wendy! I can tell Mouse enjoyed the occasion. :)
ReplyDeleteMelody - She had a blast. I loved seeing her so happy that day. :-)
DeleteOh, I love those photos! I don't think I'd ever dare let my kid have at a whole cake- is that a sugar crash? what fun.
ReplyDeleteJeane - She didn't actually eat much of the cake and I'm sure all the events of the day combined wore her out just in time for her to take a nap. She was up and running again when she woke up. She had presents to open after all . . . Although I think I opened more of them for her since she was all over the place. LOL
DeleteBoth of my kids had little cakes when they did their version of smash cake. Oh my! Hers was huge!! What fun! You got some great pics! Did she enjoy eating it? I am guessing at least a little bit made it into her mouth. My son wore most of his but my daughter ate every speck!
ReplyDeleteTi - I didn't expect it to be quite that big to be honest. All I knew when I ordered it was that it came free with the big cake. I think she ate more frosting than she did actual cake. So glad I did the whipped topping instead of the buttercream. LOL
DeleteLOL! My husband would never let that mess take place here.
ReplyDeleteI have to do messy things when he's not home :)
She is absolutely adorable.
Stacy - We had to give up on fighting the mess early on with Mouse. She's all about making messes! LOL
DeleteFabulous!! Love all of them!!
ReplyDeleteShe certainly had fun with that cake! Lol. She is adorable Wendy. That last picture is just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteLooks like she had fun.
ReplyDeleteThat's adorable! She really went to town!
