Many thanks to everyone who sent prayers, good thoughts and well wishes to Parker. He seems to be doing much better. We have almost completely weaned him off of the appetite stimulant and he is taking his weekly injections like a pro. Parker seems comfortable and happy, and, while not completely his old self, he is definitely making strides in that direction. We head back to the veterinarian in another couple of weeks and we expect a good progress report at that time.

You worry about your animals like you worry about your kids. I will keep my fingers crossed that your sweet furry baby has a full recovery!
ReplyDeleteSandy - I really do. And Parker's been with me so many years. I know he's older and his day will come. It just can't be any time soon if I have a say in it. :-)
DeleteI'm so glad to hear the good news about Parker!
ReplyDeleteKathy - He's even back to wanting to cuddle with me now and then. :-)
DeleteHooray for Parker, and for kitties in general!
ReplyDeleteBridget - Thank you! I do love my kitties. :-)
DeleteYay for Parker!! The bath tub makes me laugh. Our Grizelda thinks she is a plumber, and even sleeps in the tub.
ReplyDeleteMcGuffy Ann - I don't know what it is about the tub, but both my cats enjoy exploring it. Maybe they hope to find water. That's too funny about your Grizelda, sleeping in the tub. :-)
DeleteCute :) My cat likes to hang out in the empty tub too. And she likes to stalk me when I'm taking a bath and gets all confused that I'm in there and it is full of water.
ReplyDeleteJulie - Haha! Parker likes to be in the bathroom while my daughter is bathing. He'll even drink from the tub--brave cat. You never know when a two year old will decide she wants the cat to join her!
DeleteGlad to hear Parker is doing better! And I love this meme. I am going to go do it because I have cute Casey pictures. :) lol
ReplyDeleteKelly - Thank you! You should join in! I'd love to see Casey. :-)
DeleteDid you brain wash the one who likes the tub?
ReplyDeleteThe Dutchy
Haha! No. All my cats have been partial to the bathtub. :-)
DeleteAw glad your babe is feeling better! Always makes ya nervous. And how cute in the tub. My gray baby likes the tub too.
ReplyDeleteAnna - Thank you! It really does. They can't talk to us about what's bothering them, so it's always part guessing game.
DeleteSo glad to hear Parker is feeling better. It always makes you feel tense when one is "off" in any way. I have an older horse, and he has been off this winter since losing his brother (the middle "child") suddenly in September. The other two have slowly been working out the new herd of two and it is hard to watch them struggle. Perhaps Parker is still feeling his way without his siblings. Grief takes us all awhile to work out.
ReplyDeleteHe and Gracie look so cute! We have a heated water bowl and if the water gets drank the neighbor cat will get in to warm up.
Carla - Thank you! Our animals bond with our other animals too. It's something we always have to be mindful of when we lose a companion, I agree. I know Parker was affected--having Gracie around has helped tremendously. He was doing so much better there until he got so sick. But I'm sure it still affects him just as it does me.
DeleteHe's continuing to do well with the medication, including his injections.
Glad that Parker is in recovery! Our Triad believe nothing is sacred, not even the toilet bowl.
ReplyDeleteJenclair - Haha! I imagine mine would feel the same way if we weren't sticklers for keeping the seat down. It was a habit we started when we first brought Riley home. I didn't want him drinking out of the toilet and then dripping all over the toilet seat, to be found by some unsuspecting user. LOL
DeleteOne of cats also loved the bath, empty or otherwise given the chance he'd be in it. Good news about Parker, I'm glad he's doing well
ReplyDeleteTracy - Cats are so funny that way. :-) And thank you. I'm hopeful Parker will continue to improve.
DeleteSo glad to hear Parker is recovering! hope you guys are having a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteIliana - Thank you! We had a nice quiet weekend. I imagine most of our weekends will have to be that way for awhile until I'm all healed up. :-S
DeleteGo, Gracie! Way to conquer your fears!
ReplyDeleteSo glad Parker is doing better. Give him a hug from us!
