This week's Top Ten Tuesday topic is the Books I Was SO EXCITED to Get to When They First Came Out, but Still Haven’t Read.
The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow
The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern
Station Eleven by Emily St, John Mandel
Have you read any of these books? What did you think? What books were you excited to read when they first came out but still haven't managed to get to?

I can't believe I haven't read The Starless Sea either. =/
ReplyDeleteStephanie - It's on my list of books to read this year. I really hope I get to it! Thank you for visiting!
DeleteThe Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks was super interesting.

Lydia - I look forward to reading it!
DeleteThe Once and Future Witches and The Starless Sea have been on my TBR for a long time, but I don't own a copy, so they didn't made the list this week ;)
ReplyDeleteHere is my TTT: https://herseriallife.com/top-13-books-i-was-excited-get-havent-read/
Have a great week :)
Rae - I would really like to get to both this year if possible.
DeleteStation Eleven is one of my favorite books ever😁
ReplyDeleteMine, too
DeleteTammy and Anne - Hopefully I can get to it this year!
DeleteThe Starless Sea and Station Eleven are good. I hope you get to them soon.
ReplyDeleteKami - I am glad you enjoyed both. I look forward to reading them!
DeleteI liked reading Being Mortal and hope you do, too.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Astilbe - I really need to get to that one.
DeleteI have not read any of these either. I hope you enjoy them when you do get to them!
ReplyDeleteCindy - I hope so too! Thank you.
DeleteHenrietta Lacks, Station 11, and Being Mortal are all excellent. Now to find time when you can read them, huh? My unread books
ReplyDeleteAnne - I am glad you recommend them! My goal is to not put them off much longer, but we'll see!
DeleteI've read Being Mortal and it's wonderful! I haven't read the rest but I know the feeling - there are so many books I want to read but so little time!
ReplyDeleteEustacia - That seems to be our mantra, doesn't it? So many books, so little time!
DeleteThese all sound so beautiful. I hope you get a chance to read them soon.
ReplyDeleteWendy - I hope so too! Thank you.
DeleteI listened to Burn for Me on audio and the narrator ruined it for me. I plan to try again at some point because so many friends rave about the series. Next time I'll go the Kindle route!
ReplyDeleteTanya - Hopefully you will enjoy the written version more, if you do decide to give it another try.
Deleteoh my reaction here is drop everything and read Burn for Me by Ilona Andrews NOW. I try hard to read their books the moment I get them. I loved this book! I also bought Once & Future Witches on audio but haven't fit it into my reading yet.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart
Anne - I seem to be in a bit of a slump--less about the books and more about life--but maybe Ilona Andrews would be enough to grab me enough to distract me and pull me completely in . . .
DeleteI have yet to read Station Eleven and The Starless Sea. Both books I own a copy of.
ReplyDeleteMarianna - Hopefully we both enjoy them when we get to them.
DeleteThe Starless Sea made my list too. :) I don't own Station Eleven. If I did, it would've gone on my list as well. I hope you enjoy all of these when you finally get to them.
ReplyDeleteJenni Elyse - I hope you get to all the books on your list too!
DeletePurple Hibiscus is really good; I liked that one. And I still haven't read The Starless Sea either! :)
ReplyDeleteLark - I think Purple Hibiscus has been on my TBR shelf the longest of all of these. I am glad to hear you liked it.
Delete"Go Set a Watchman" by Harper Lee...
ReplyDeleteI haven't read that one but perhaps one day!
DeleteThe Starless Sea made my list also. And The Once and Future Witches would have, if I had remembered that I bought the Kindle book on sale. (I unintentionally stuck to my physical books, of which I had more than enough to qualify for today's prompt... by at least a factor of ten.)
ReplyDeleteLark - I am sure I have many hidden must reads still in my e-reader. It's easier to go with physical books since they are much more visible!
DeleteI have not read any of these, but have a couple of them on my TBR. I hope you get to them someday soon, Wendy.
ReplyDeleteCarla - Thank you! I hope so!
DeleteOther than STATION ELEVEN, I haven't read any of these. Several of them are on my TBR list, though. I hope you enjoy all these when you get to them!
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
Susan - Thank you!
DeleteI've heard so many great things about Erin Morgernstern's works! I still need to read The Starless Sea too!
ReplyDeleteBooks I need to get to are listed at this link if you're interested - https://ruthchrysta.com/10-owned-books-im-excited-about-but-havent-read-top-ten-tuesday/
Ruth - I loved The Night Circus and The Starless Sea sounds like another good one. I've read a couple on your list--A Brave New World and Inkheart. Piranesi is one I really want to read too.
DeleteThe Henrietta Lacks book sounds really interesting, will have to check it out.

Jo - I hope we both will get a chance to read it!
DeleteI really liked a number of the books you have on this list. I have many books that fall into this category languishing on my TBR shelves. I am super excited about them, I get copies, they sit on my shelf. Sometimes for years. I think I get distracted by the next shiny object.
ReplyDeleteHelen - It's way too easy to get distracted with so many great sounding books constantly coming out.
DeleteI've read three from the list. I remember Purple Hibiscus so very well.
ReplyDeleteMystica - That one has probably been on my TBR shelf for the longest. I really should make time to read it.
DeleteOnce and Future Witches is on my list too! (Not that I actually made a list as I have too many to count!!!)
ReplyDeleteLove the new blog design!
Nicci - It was hard narrowing them down. My list is actually pretty long too.
